Jared Baldridge is a current fourth-year optometry student attending the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.
Jared discovered his passion for eye care while working as an optometric technician in his hometown of Mountain Home, ID prior to heading off to college. With optometry in his sights, he then set out to pursue this goal by attending Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. In 2021, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from BYU, and he was subsequently accepted into optometry school.
Throughout optometry school, Jared has been the president of his class, an academic tutor for multiple courses, an optics and contact lens lab teaching assistant, and he helps run the ocular prosthetics clinic on campus. He has been involved with clubs including the Spanish optometry club, private practice club, and serves as the treasurer of the contact lens club. He is also a member of the American Optometric Student Association and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.
Jared’s current career interests include ocular disease (especially corneal diseases), contact lenses, and private practice. And he has ambitions to pursue a residency in
Cornea & Contact Lens upon completion of his Doctor of Optometry program. As a compassionate provider, Jared is eager to help patients with any of their optometric
needs.
Amidst all the studying and rigor of optometry school, Jared makes sure to carve out time for his hobbies. That includes spending time with family and friends, reading, learning chess, and playing sports such as soccer, volleyball, pickleball, and golf. He has a love for traveling and adventure, and he is excited to be on “Kwaj Island” making the most of every moment.
